⚠️ Warning Long Story ⚠️
I debated whether I wanted to show you what my tummy looked like, because I’m a bit insecure about it. I sucked it up because maybe I can help one person who may be dealing with the same issues.
I had surgery a week ago and it was my 4th surgery in less than 2 years. It has been the ultimate battle, mentally, physically and emotionally.
My journey began on June 2017, when I had no other choice but to undergo a hysterectomy. My ovaries weren’t removed during this surgery. Soon after having my hysterectomy, I started having labor pains in my lower abdomen. The doctor who did my hysterectomy said it wasn’t due to the surgery, that I should see a gastroenterologist. So instead of just seeing a gastroenterologist we went to a Specialist, wherein he said that there was nothing wrong with my colon.
I was then referred to a Specialist OBGYN. I visited with him, and he was amazing from day one! So January 2018, I underwent another surgery. They went through the incisions that are shown in the picture, but he went through all 5 incisions. He removed a crazy amount of adhesions and fatty deposits. He was appalled by the amount of adhesions and the placements of my incisions. My Specialist OBGYN actually trains doctors all over the state of Pennsylvania, on how to do laparoscopic procedures the right way.
I healed from the January surgery with no relief of the pain that started in June 2017, from the hysterectomy. My Specialist wanted me to undergo another surgery on April 2018. I underwent that surgery and again more adhesions and scar tissue were removed along with my left ovary. He went through all 5 of my incisions again.
I healed from the surgery from April 2018. Again, no relief. My Specialist OBGYN referred me to a Specialist Pain Management Doctor. I met with my Specialist in Pain Management and he started me on Lupron. Lupron is to help if you have endometriosis or other issues by shutting your system down and putting you into menopause. I was on Lupron for months with no relief and added symptoms because of the menopause. He then started injections. The first time I received injections, I received 4 to my abdomen, and it was an awful pain. I was on medication for pain and the injection put me down for days and helped for about two weeks. The next visit he decided to do 5 injections to my stomach and 4 injections inside, and a Lupron shot. Again, I was down for 4/5 days because of the shots, and again they only helped for two to three weeks.
It finally got to a point where I was being referred to a Specialist in Physical Therapy for Pelvic Pain. He also discussed the possibility of applying for a Marijuana card. He believed my pain would be chronic and on-going.
That’s when I said to Rick, I can’t keep doing this. Rick said we are going back to my Specialist OBGYN. I met with him and he said, you are not ready to be chronic and go on a Marijuana card. He wasn’t about to give up. That’s when my 4th surgery occurred last week.
He took my right ovary, appendix, and found endometriosis in my lower left abdomen and cut it out, along with burning the area.
I am obviously under recovery at the moment, and praying to God he has completely fixed me 🙏🏼
I am sharing my story in case there are other women dealing with the same issues. Please message me if you have questions, or need advice, and/or if you feel alone, because you are not alone! I hope this helps! ✨
